Shane Watson Guide Service mid-week report. Nothing much has changed on the stripers since my last report. We've had some mighty good mornings on downline bluebacks and we've had great leadcore trolling at times. Some days leadcore has out fished live bait 10 to 1. Some days the downline has been on fire. It all depends on what they are doing while you are out there. We have been trolling leadcore and catching fish until we se them loaded up on the graph. Then, we are putting downlines on them as quick as we can. Somedays they will eat the bluebacks as fast as you can put them down and they will stay under you for a while. At times, they are moving so fast, you can't get the bait down to them before they are gone. Overall, the trolling bite has been very good for size and numbers. Downlines have been wide open if you can get them to stick around for a while. If you don't like to troll, you will have to ride around alot and look for fish as blind fishing is hit or miss. We are trolling 27 lb. leadcore with Capt. Mack's 1 oz. chartreuse and blue jigs with a 4.5 inch Shadalicious paddle tail. Capt Mack's shad bodies and Key-Lime Pie trailers are also working well. This report is brought to you by Shane Watson Guide Service and Hammond's Fishing Center. Good Fishing.
