Shane Watson Guide Service Wednesday Fishing Report. Yesterday, the fishing was decent on our boats. Today, the stripers and big spots were on fire. Big freelined bluebacks fished over the main channel and in the mouths of deep coves produced best on the stripers. We also caught and released a nice mix of smaller stripers and really big spots on the Hammond's Blueback Bandit crank bait. This was the first day that we actually spent some time with this bait and it works well on both stripers and spots. Overall, the fishing was as good as it gets this morning on our boats. I have seen more stripers over 20 pounds in the last 2 weeks than I've seen all year. If you want to catch a big one, now is the time to go. The fish above was caught on my boat this morning on a big freeline blueback fished 20 feet behind the boat. It weighed 35 pounds and was 42 inches long. This report is brought to you by Shane Watson Guide Service and Hammond's Fishing Center. Good Fishing.
