U-rigs, Flukes, and Freelined Bluebacks Continue To Produce Best on Lake Lanier.

Report Date: February 22, 2009

Shane Watson Guide Service Report (02-22-09). Freelined bluebacks, Capt. Mack's 4 arm u-rigs, and leadhead flukes continue to produce best on Lake Lanier. Find the birds diving, preferably without any loons under them and troll u-rigs in that area. Downlines continue to be hit or miss at best. I have ran trips covering both north and south since coming home from Miami, and the stripers have been boiling on top very well at times. These boiling fish have bit freelined bluebacks and leadhead flukes. If you see the birds diving and no fish boiling, you will do better if you put out your u-rigs. There are fish in the rear of all the popular winter time creeks and the main channel up north. We have also found fish in many of the less popular creeks both north and south, that no one seems to be on. These fish are easier to catch than the ones that have 10 to 20 boats on them. This report is brought to you by Shane Watson Guide Service and Hammond's Fishing Center. Good Fishing.
